During the Covid threat,Caution threatens Nipah virus outbreak


This is the breeding season for bats that carry the Nipah virus. A report published in the International Journal of Viruses states that bats may have higher rates of viruses during breeding. Dr. Krishnan Kumar is the Director of the Virology Lab of the Department of Biotechnology. The report was prepared by Mohanan Valiya Veettil.The NIPAH reported in Kerala for two consecutive years in May and June. The report warns that it should be routinely used to prevent disease.


Viruses are carriers, but they do not infect bats because of their unique immunity. However, their immunity during breeding will be reduced. Nipah virus is more common in the bladder secretions. Humans get sick from the intermediates that come into contact with them.
There are two types of Nipah virus. Nipah virus-B and Nipahvirus-M. Of these, B has higher mortality rates. This is what has been reported in India and Bangladesh. NIP-M was in Malaysia. We must be kept away from bats habitats. Do not eat fruits suspected of being bitten by bats, must follow personal hygene. Health experts are warning
